Ministry Groups — Communication Guide

Use the groups we already have · Stop creating one-off Teams chats
Why this matters. Every ministry already has an official group email and (in most cases) a Teams team. Creating a one-off Teams chat means people get left out, no one has history, and we end up with duplicate conversations. Message the group address instead — everyone on the roster gets it automatically, forever.
✗ Don't
  • Start a new Teams group chat to reach your ministry
  • Try to remember who should be included each time
  • Reply only to one person on a leadership thread
✓ Do
  • Email the ministry's group address (listed below)
  • Post in the ministry's Teams team & channel
  • Ask IT Ministry to add someone — don't fork the group

Outlook Email a group

1
Open New Mail in Outlook (desktop, web, or mobile).
2
In the To: field, type the group address — e.g. EvangelismTeam@abundantlifecod.org.
3
Send. Everyone on the ministry roster receives it. Replies thread back to the group.

Teams Post in a channel

1
Open Teams → left rail → Teams icon.
2
Click your ministry's team (e.g. "Evangelism Team") → pick the right channel.
3
Click New conversation, type your message, send. All members see it.
